His story starts out with his father who is the King of Athens and was feeling threatened because his brother had 50 sons and he had none and felt very threatened from his brother and their sons. So while he was on one oh his travels the King of Athens Aigeus stopped at a little island called Troizen were he fell in love with the princess Aithra their but, he had to leave so he told the princess if they had a son to send him to him when he is able to lift up this rock. The rook a very big rock but the king who was a strong man was able to. Aigeus also left his sword and shoes and told his wife to bring this also so the king will be able to recognize who he is. Aithera will soon have a child named Theseus and he will grow strong and smart. He will not know of his father until his mom asks him to lift a rock and then she reveal who his true father really is. He will go and meet him and on his journey to Athens he will have to battle many robbers. He will then have to go kill a menacing bull in Marathon because his father made him to because the king was persuaded by his wife who is a witch and she wanted her son to be the king. King Aigeus did not know who Theseus was yet. Theseus will kill the bull and be able to prove his father who he is because of the shoes he wore which was his fathers. King Aigeus will banish his wife for trying to kill his son. Theseus will then be sent with a sacrifice to a cannibal country to go and defeat the Minotaur because he wanted to stop the killing of Athens people to the Mintaur. He will later go to the underworld six times and will be saved by Hercules once. He will marry Hippolyta who he will make queen after conquering her country of the Amazon. He will be killed by being thrown off the cliff by Lycomdes.

the connection that theseus had to lighting thief was that theseus had also defeated the Minatour as did Percy and they were both heroes. They both have defeated Pocrustes.
