Information Perseus is known for defeating various monsters. He is one of the most alluded to Hero’s in Greek mythology as well. He rode upon the back of a winged horse, Pegasus, slaying monsters. He is famous for founding Mycenae, for killing and slicing off the head of Medusa giving it to Athena to put on her shield. Also, he was known for saving the Fair maiden Andromeda from the Kraken (which Poseidon unleashed as a showing of his anger against her mother). After that he married her, fighting off one of a lover of hers Phineas. They lived a long life, with seven sons. His stories inspired the movie, Clash of the Titans, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and the book The Lightning Thief. Picture-

Percy and Peruses follow the near same story, fighting Medusa, killing off monsters and what not. The entire book is nearly a mirror image of the myth only with a few modern twists and a couple other myths sprinkled in.
