Hephaestus
Hepheatus was one of the twelve Greek Olympian Gods. He is a child of Zeus, the "father" of all the gods, and Hera, who was the "Mother." Hephaestus sreved as the great blacksmith of the gods, known as the god of technology, and made all of Zeus's lightning bolts along with many other godly weapons. He is known for creating Hermes' winged shoes, Aphrodite's girdle, Achilles' armor, Helios' chariot, and many other essentials that we hear of in the tales of the gods. Also, he made the god's thrones where they rein on Mount. Olympus. One of Hephaestus' most acknowledged creations is that of Pandora, the first woman, and her pithos.
Hephaestus was a skilled blacksmith, as is evident, though he had an accident and is now known as "lame." In one tale, Zeus had a fight with Hera and bound her by chains. Hephaestus was trying to help his mother, but Zeus became irritated and threw him off Mount Olympus. Because of this, he would forever walk with a limp. . His wife is Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love, which many thought strange because Hephaestus was not known for his looks. When Aphrodite had an afair with Ares, Hephaestus would often play tricks on them. Hephasteus' most commonly known symbol is the blacksmith's hammer, although he is also dipicted with an axe.
Hephaestus
Relation To The Lightning Thief:
In The Lightning Thief, Hepheastus isn't met directly, however there are some things that relate to him in the book. The cabin for his Demi-God children is number 9 (there is one for most of the Olympian gods). Also, when Percy and Annabeth get trapped in the tunnel of love, it is Hephasteus' doing because he set a trap for Ares and Aphrodite to embarass them infront of all the other Gods, like i mentioned he is known for doing previously.
