Chimera...

The chimera was a monstrous, fire breathing female creature. One of the offspring of Echidna and Typhon she was a sibling of Cerberus and Lerneaen Hydra. The chimera was the body of a lioness, with a tail that ended in a snakes head and the head of a goat comes out of the middle of her back. The Chimera mated with her brother Orthrus and mothered the Sphinx and the Nemean lion. After terrorizing Lycia( the region where the lycians lived), Chimera was killed by Bellerophon with the help of Pegasus. Bellerophon rode Pegasus into the air and shot a lead arrow into Chimera and killed her.

Relation to Lightning Thief:

In St. Louis, on the gateway arch, the Chimera attacks Percy, and forces him to jump off the bridge into the Mississippi River (Riordan 207- 211).
